Ok so I don’t know of a true way but I have a great alternative to the ALT Left arrow which really is hard to press, but alt-backspace is a good alternative.

Use this script:

!Backspace::!Left

This basically sucked hours out of my life.  (but it’s all good that’s my job)

The issue is the recovery CD or USB drive that provided by dell does not recognize the M.2 harddrive you need to load the drivers before you attempt to do the restore.

Go to: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25165/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver

Download the f6flpy-x64.zip file and unzip it to a USB thumb drive formated at fat32  (Very important)

Then in the recovery menu to the advanced then select restore from image,  … Read the rest

I had a heck of a time finding a way to get the wifi logon to save and keep it signed in on windows 10 logon screen.

How to fix:

  1. Go to services.msc and disable WLAN AutoConfig service (Temporarily)
  2. Then go to: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Wlansvc  (This folder is a hidden folder)
  3. Keep Just the profiles folder  (Delete all but profiles)
  4. Go inside profiles folder and keep just interfaces folder (Delete all but that folder)
  5. Delete everything inside folder interfaces
  6. Start the WLAN

Something changed in chrome that when you right click and open a link in a new tab, the content doesn’t play automatically.  This happens in youtube and other multimedia sites.

to fix this go to:

chrome://flags/#disable-gesture-requirement-for-media-playback   (paste this to the URL bar,  clicking on it won’t work)

And enable this flag.

You must restart chrome (completely,  if you don’t know how, just restart your computer)

Please let me know if this worked for you!

I have to say, I had high hopes for these headphones, They had crazy good reviews on AMAZON take a look!

I own the Sony MDR-NC40  and I thought I could find something a little more comfortable for long plane rides that doesn’t sit straight on your ears. Now, the sony do an admirable job removing ambient noise and good isolation, but if they are a little off they lose their effectiveness so on an airplane you need to … Read the rest

The latest version of chrome dropped support for JAVA by default.  CRAZY!!!

To re-enable it:

Go to :  chrome://flags/#enable-npapi             then enable the NPAPI Mac, Windows   (first one highlighted)

Restart browser for it to take effect.  (if this doesn’t work it’s because chrome didn’t completely shut down,  restart the computer if you don’t know how to terminate it)

This also will make users to re-authorize the plugin when it first starts (one time).

What causes this is a stuck power button.

My suggestion is to open up the phone (look up a s4 teardown)  (This is a good one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm4f2XjQLAM)

You only need to remove the bezel, after that you will see the actual power button.  Wiggle it until gets unstuck.

If this helped you, please put in a comment.

Kwikset Kevo Review

So I decided to plunge into the realm of keyless door locks.  For some reason I was really impressed with the Kwikset Kevo and I decided to get it.

Let me just say that at the end of the day I was really disappointed with the device.  On paper it’s wonderful but when you dig deep and start using it you realize how flawed it is.

Here are the reasons why I did not like this device and decided … Read the rest

Can’t log in to WordPress after upgrade

This is mostly a plug in problem, to easily figure out which one is doing it use the command and conquer technique.

Move half of the plugins in the \wp-content\plugins to a different folder on your server.  (so basically move the complete plug ins folders)

Check if you can log in.

If you can’t move half of the remaining and so on.

As soon as you can log into WordPress admin section, take back the batch that was causing the … Read the rest
