What happens is that this process is responsible to scanning both the internal and external storage for media, now \u00a0unfortunately \u00a0it’s not the best piece of software.<\/p>\n

To fix the issue, depending on your android version you have, go to the apps \u00a0management \u00a0section and look for Media Storage. \u00a0Force Stop it and Clear Data. \u00a0Reboot.<\/p>\n

Now it will \u00a0re-scan \u00a0and regenerate the database. \u00a0(It will have high cpu usage for that period of time (a few minutes depending on how big your storage is)<\/p>\n

IF THIS DOESN’T WORK:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It means that one of your media files is \u00a0corrupted \u00a0and makes the service retry to rebuild the DB all the time.<\/p>\n

What I found that works is an mp3 scan and repair tool<\/a> for the mac there are some for the PC but that one worked \u00a0extremely \u00a0well. \u00a0 (make sure you backup your media before running it)<\/p>\n
